A favorite show amongst teenage girls from across the country would probably be The Hills. A spin off series of the hit Laguna Beach, The Hills followed the lives of five twenty-something year old women living in the Hills of Los Angeles. On the show we followed them through break-ups, finding careers and fights with each other. It seemed as if they lived extravagant lifestyles with lots of partying at clubs and red carpet events. Most thought this is what it was like to be a part of the LA elite, until the series finale when they revealed that they had been filming on a TV set in Hollywood, revealing that to some extent that the series was either scripted or completely fake. Brody Jenner, a star on the show, told MTV when questioned on whether or not The Hills was fake, “There were a lot of moments that were real and a lot that were not so real.” Another star from The Hills, Kristin Cavallari told People Magazine “Nothing you see on TV is real. Fans need to understand it’s all entertainment. It’s all in fun. I would never put my close friends or a relationship on a show.”
